Pedal to the Metal
Finally made it out to High Island today. Most of the Egrets have eggs in their nests, and the Spooners are getting frisky. The weather was perfect right on the coast. The weather report indicated bad shooting conditions, but it was perfect. Got my 2011 HI patch. Just a few songbirds so far, it will pick up very soon. No sign of the new tripod platform rules taking effect. The new "tripod platform" is good for 800mm lenses. A bit buggy, but not unbearable.

January Afternoon
Finally got to shoot today after all the gloomy days lately. My magical Crescent Lake in Sugar Land came through for me once again. Lots of variety, including overflights by flocks of migrating Neotropic Cormorants....

Roseate Spoonbills
From our recent San Bernard NWR visit with Sandy. Tons of birds there now, although the SH Cranes are hard to get close to.
